HTC Radio Interface Resource Shortage

I get many errors while trying to send text messages through my HTC EVO with Virgin Mobile as the provider. I would get error messages stating radio interface resource shortage.

I found this tutorial that provides a fix. So far I’ve been able to send out text messages after the updates. View at youtube or watch below.

    Hey Tim, this issue was irritating the piss out of me. I did software updates as you instructed and it worked great! Thanks for helping me get rid of this persistent issue. With regards to the lights on or off…I am in the same boat as you, I can see just as well with them on or off hehe

    Hey man! Thanks for the helpful video. My EVO was freaking out, saying it had a network resource shortage or something. Anyway, it wasn’t sending a text through. I applied those updates you showed me and I think it fixed the problem. Again, many thanks!i’d much rather watch a vid than call tech support. Have a good one; dude.

    I did this and it still didn’t let me send any text messages.

      Who’s your cell phone provider? If it’s Virgin Mobile then they recently updated the OS that provides a fix for this issue.

        I have done this and it still comes up as the error. & what’s the OS?

          If you are using Virgin Mobile, first you need to find out which version of the OS you are using.

          Goto: Settings > About phone > Software information

          Under Software number what do you see? The fix for this issue is Software number: 1.14.652.071ORD

          If your version is lower then that, then you can update the OS by going to:
          (NOTE: you should backup all your personal data before doing an OS update):

          Settings > System Updates> Htc software update

          Then click on the ‘Check now’ button on the bottom. This should update your OS with the fix for this issue.

    THANK YOU! I just switched to boost mobile today and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t send and receive text messages. Doing well now.

    Had this problem before I was constantly updating prl and this that and the other got it fixed finally and it stopped for like 6 months. Now it has started again hope I can get this working again.

    I’m having the same issue as everyone else but the updating keeps getting interrupted by the same radio resource shortage error. I have virgin mobile and my software number is 2.95.652.5 710RD what should I do next?
